Rose has been engaging with Games?! What?!
Yes! That's right! I mean I don't specifically hide it per se, but I took the courage to turn on my shitty laptop (because I can't game in my main pc (stupid family restriction)) and played some indie games. I need some new breath air, so I need to download some new ones for new experiences. Before I do list, I'll write my previously recently played games.
Alan Wake 2

The biggest single-player narrative game I've played, and damn it changed my life. It started when I wanted to play the alan wake series so I can talk to my friend, but my life was changed when I played it firstly. I'm glad I played it blindly. One of the best experiences I've ever had playing a game. Fundamentally changed my perspective on life, art, and living in general. Spectacular graphics, storytelling, I love the characters too. For people that loves to write, I think they need to atleast play this once in their lives.
Hades 2

I really like roguelike. You can simultaniously turn on and off your brain to enjoy they game and you get to win. Both high skill ceiling and low skill floor. And most of all, they're mostly chaotic. And there seems to have an unlimited amount of roguelike games in the market, so I'll never get bored of the progression. I've recently finished 100% (close enough) Hades [[2]]. It was a fun game, and like other people, I think narratively (especially the ending) they could've tried better. Gameplay wise, straight up upgrade. You also can't really speedrun with stupid zeus rails unlike before (lmao), I love the combos and the weapon variety. Plus, it's greek mythology!!! Who could ever say no man.
Marathon

This is the only game that I bought in the last [[2]] years. I bought it because I love the game, it is genuinely such a fun graphical satisfaction. It brought me back my imagination and I just love the universe that they made. I listen to their osts, and the only thing holding me back is I can only play the game in my main pc and I can't play it, also it's an extraction shooter, not my cup of tea. I prefer just shooters like overwatch or apex or MOBAs like deadlock.
Oh yeah, some other misc games like trying out deadlock, some megabonk here and there. Pretty fun, but let's continue our show!
Here are the games I'm playing right now!
RACCOIN: Coin Pusher Roguelike

Ever since Balatro dropped, alot of games has been trying to expand the roguelike genre by using a real life game and making them a roguelike. I'm in support of this actually? The more competition the better, right? Now, I initialy didn't even plan to play this, but I saw this at when I was browsing my favorite pirated game website (teehee). Out of curiosity, I downloaded it, and here's my experience:
For the first few rounds, you will not understand how to win, or how the game is supposed to go. Sure, you know that you need to drop the coins onto the edge to "exchange" them, and you can either press Q/E or left/right click to unleash your coins. There's some concepts similar to balatro, there's Jokers or...I forgot the name..but its on the bottom left, and there are "special cards" or chips that you can drop and they can have special powers or attribues. And you also have powerups that comes from gacha ball prizes that can give you an event or a gadget that you can put on screen. Hang with me. Each racoon gives you a special kit that you can use to win, each with different playstyle. For a base game, it gives not too much and not too little characters to play. But anyways, you might start to read and still struggle on the first few rounds. I only started to understand on my 7th run, and when I understood how things work, i can easily clear the first 15 rounds.
When you understand how to play, you can feel the dopamine flowing in your mind. The same rush as balatro. You understand the relation between combos and scores, the fact that you need to go big or space out your coins. There's so much mechanics to dance around that you won't be bored playing in a single character. It provides more RNG, because the coins are all dependent on the local physics engine, so you can only pray that your coin lands in the position that you intended.
Overall [[8]]/10 I highly recommend is this game, please try it !!
What Returns of Edith Flinch

This is actually a bit funny. I was about to try the Return of the Obra Dhinn, but I mistook the logo and played this game instead. This might be one of my happiest accidents ever. This game is a walking sim technically, and the main push is it's narrative. The appeal comes from the stories of the character, and how we experience each of them slowly, and in a way, explore this very bizzare built home. Each furniture each item in each character's room tell a story, and the more I play the more I appreciate the unique storytelling that the game potrays. It's really cozy, really comforting (although some stories are...not that comforting) It depends how you view tragedies, I suppose. Runs a bit choppy in my laptop, but you don't need alot of fps in my system to experience this beauty (although the graphics are very beautiful. I wish I could play it in my beefy pc.)
9/10 A truly inspirational, gorgeous story!

The Return of Obra Dhinn

Finally! The game I've been searching for. I actually don't know what to expect, all I remember was the very interesting graphics and thats it. I wasn't expecting much, but oh boy, this was one of the best experiences I've played! I was still confused for the first 30 minutes, but I quickly understood on what to do. I took [[Notes]]. Many [[Notes]]. I still haven't deducted alot of things, I'm still finishing chapter [[1]]. I don't know how to proceed (maybe i have to solve some people first), but man, this game is genuinely beautiful. It managed to hook me the entire seat by intentionally making the chapters non-linear and leaving so many gaps of information that I am tasked to fill. You can just take you time here. Oh yeah, you need to solve the murder/dissapearance of the members of the obra dhinn, which originally contained 60 people. Oh yeah, murder mystery of 60 people? And you need to map and figure out who is who on the ship.
[[8]]/10 migt be higher after I finish!
